  • Jamie Alves

    Jamie Alves is the Executive Director and President of Rockland Wildlife where she leads with deep compassion, expertise, and a lifelong dream of helping animals. A New York State Licensed Wildlife Rehabilitator and Federal Migratory Bird Rehabilitator Subpermittee, Jamie specializes in the rehabilitation of songbirds, raptors, waterfowl, and neonatal squirrels

    In addition to her wildlife work, Jamie is the proud owner of two yoga studios in Rockland County, New York, where she cultivates inclusive, trauma-informed spaces for healing and community. With over a decade of teaching and leadership experience, Jamie has become known for her accessible and heart-centered approach to yoga, offering support to her community.

    Jamie also serves as a board member for Three and a Half Acres Yoga (THAY), a nonprofit dedicated to bringing trauma-informed yoga, mindfulness, and breathwork to underserved communities. Her work across both animal welfare and human well-being is driven by the same mission: to offer care, connection, and the chance to heal.

  • Andres Alves

    Andres Alves brings a blend of clinical skill, creativity, and compassion to the care of wild animals. A New York State Licensed Wildlife Rehabilitator and Federal Migratory Bird Rehabilitator Subpermittee, Andres specializes in the rehabilitation of large mammals such as coyotes and foxes, and animals with spinal cord injuries or neurologic conditions, often crafting innovative treatment approaches to help them regain mobility, comfort, and independence.

    As a neurological physical therapist for humans, Andres bridges the worlds of physical therapy and wildlife rehabilitation, applying his understanding of anatomy, and the nervous system to help the animals in his care.

    Known for his patience, problem-solving, and deep empathy, Andres plays a vital role in advancing the rescue’s mission to provide expert, compassionate care to Rockland County’s wildlife.
